Karen Tortora-Lee’s Question
That’s some title. How did you come up with it – and what does it mean?
Azana: It’s an insinuation that I’m an airhead, aerialist and air-sign. It alludes to lofty ideals but also quirky action. It suggests slightly more than acting, but confirms nothing. It’s as vaugly expressive as I am.

Diánna Martin’s Question
If you were going to invite five people, anyone from past and present, to see your FRIGID show – who would you invite and why?
Azana: They will all be there; grandmother, mother, stepsister, childhood friend and ex-lover. The bringing together of all facets of my life, those who were and are close. Different parts merging together to experience the expression of my perspective.

Antonio Minino’s Question
What is the biggest sacrifice you’ve ever made for your Art and was it worth it?
Azana:
Absolutely everything. Security, safety, sanity, family. Free health care. Life on the beach. It better be worth it.

Geoffrey Paddy Johnson’s Question
Was there any unexpected discovery made during the development of this production and, if so, can you share it?
Azana:
Urr, umm crazy emotional depths that require attention. all sorts of stuff… I do not have the stamina of a teenager.

Michelle Augello-Page’s Question
What do you hope the audience receives from the experience of seeing this show?
Azana:
I would hope entertainment, introspection and speculation. I want people to marvel, at the world, at themselves, at what they have just seen.

Rock, Paper, Scissors Tournament of DEAAAAATH

THM Bonus Question – We’re serious this year!
In the THM virtual Rock, Paper, Scissors Tournament of DEAAAAATH which FRIGID Show do you take on? And what do you throw?

Azana: Paper.

And you challenge?

Azana: The Canuck Cabaret.

Oh, Azana, how expressive and illusive of you to pick a show that’s not actually eligible for the RPS Tournament!  Not that we don’t love The Canuck Cabaret - we absolutely do!  They just aren’t playing in the Tournament this time around.  SOOOOOO  … you have to face the music and go to the Randomizer for your randomly chosen opponent.  Here we go!  Flippity Flip … it lands on … Musical Pawns who threw SCISSORS.  Oooof!  That’s a direct HIT and one strike in the Tournament of Deaaaaath!  Let’s see if you can pull it out with your next round …

Round two is Love in the time of Chlamydia who challenged everyone and threw ROCK.  That’s a WIN!

Round three is Initium/Finis who also challenged everyone and threw ROCK … another WIN!

Congratulations, Azana – you won 2 out of 3 rounds and made it through to dance another day.  We salute you.

Thanks Aerial Allusions for participating in The Happiest Medium’s FRIGID New York Festival 2012 Q&A. And for playing our game! You’re officially PAPER in any and all challenges. You may win, you may not – who knows! This is how it works in the crazy world of the Rock, Paper, Scissors Tournament of DEAAAAATH!

For the rest of you don’t forget to check out Aerial Allusions!
